The Early Bird Raffle Book is hot off the press

and chock-full of great raffle prizes!

Paper copies are heading home in backpacks today or tomorrow, but for an electronic version click here!

There are many reasons to buy early bird tickets:
You can’t make it to Fun Fair this year…
Grandma down in Florida really wants to support Cottage and enter the raffle…
You’d rather spend your time at the fair focused on games, cakes, food, books and friends
than filling out raffle tickets…
Your co-worker or neighbor would be happy to help support Cottage and buy a ticket or two.
Completed early bird tickets and payments (cash or check made payable to “CSS PTO”) must be returned to school by the end of the school day on Thursday, March 20th in an envelope marked “PTO-Early Bird Raffle”.

Raffle winners will be drawn at the end of Fun Fair this Sunday and winners do not need to be present to win.  Good luck everyone!

Why should your family support Fun Fair?

The Fun Fair at the Cottage Street School generates the majority of the CSS PTO’s fundraising income – and provides a great time for CSS families and the Sharon community. In 2013, the CSS PTO Fun Fair netted more than $15,000 for our school and its students – more than half of the PTO’s yearly budget! We know we ask a lot of our school families in terms of donations and volunteer time. Do you know how these funds benefit your children?

Through Fun Fair and other annual fundraisers, CSS PTO provides Cottage Street School with wonderful opportunities, materials, and programs that greatly enhance all of our children’s education and overall experience. In addition to building a strong sense of community, the PTO sponsors a wide variety of grade-level and school-wide programming to support the curriculum. In past years, the CSS PTO has donated thousands of dollars to purchase new technology, build the outdoor classroom, paint the world map, create a new drama program, and enhance our library and physical education programs. The PTO has also sponsored many special enrichment programs, including the Museum of Science and the New England Aquarium, and provides a teacher reimbursement program that helps teachers make special purchases that enrich their classrooms. Thank you for your support of Fun Fair and the CSS PTO!

Barnes & Noble Night!

Please join us at Barnes & Noble tonight, November 20th from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Walpole Mall. Barnes & Noble Night is a collaboration between all three Sharon elementary schools to celebrate our music programs with performances by musical groups from each school. This is a great chance to get a head start on holiday shopping with a percentage of the items purchased going back to the Sharon schools. Click here for all the details and schedule of events.

Also tonight, Texas Roadhouse (just a short walk across the parking lot from Barnes & Noble) will donate 10% of all meals purchased by CSS families back to the CSS PTO. Mention your connection to Cottage Street PTO to your server to be sure your meal helps support PTO programs!

Enjoy a great night of musical performances and dinner AND help support our PTO!

Updates: Popcorn Friday, Stop&Shop A+, Fun Fair, and more

Visit to join the Stop and Shop A+ program and help raise money for Cottage with your grocery shopping. The Cottage School ID is 08114. If you shop at Stop and Shop this is a great and easy way to earn money for the school. Family and friends can sign up as well.

The first Popcorn Friday will be October 11th. The first week will be free, and then $.25 per bag in subsequent weeks.

There will be an informational Fun Fair meeting on Wed. 10/9 at 7:00 pm at the home of Betsy Strauss for anyone who wants to learn more about Fun Fair and possibly get involved in our school’s biggest and most beloved fundraiser. This meeting is geared to those who have not been involved in Fun Fair in the past, but anyone is welcome. Please contact Betsy Strauss at if interested.

Don’t forget to hand in your Box Tops! They are due for the next Orange Leaf gift card drawing on 10/10.

PTO celebrates Halloween in two ways this year: Order your costume(s) at using promo code FUN1636 and 15% of your order will go back to the PTO! Then, costumes can be worn to Halloween Bingo at CSS on 10/29 (pumpkin carving contest too!).

Save The Date! Barnes & Noble Night will be on 11/20. Performances will be given by music groups from all three Sharon elementary schools and book readings will be done by the principals. In addition, plan to eat dinner at Texas Roadhouse at the Walpole Mall that evening and 10% of your bill will be donated to the CSS PTO!

The next PTO meeting will be held on Thursday 11/7 at 7:00 pm in the CSS Library. As always, free childcare is provided on site.

The KidStuff coupon book sale is over. Please return your book or pay $25 if you’d like to keep it. Books or payment can be sent into school with your child.
